Kumari Powder (Aloe Vera)

*Aloe vera is a succulent plant that is often given the status of the immortal plant. In Sanskrit, it is called Kumari, which translates to a young girl. Aloe vera is beneficial in promoting the health of young girls and especially useful when they start their menstrual cycle. The transparent substance that is found in the interior of the aloe vera plant has many healing properties and anti-aging qualities. Aloe vera assists in increasing blood circulation to help eliminate pitta and work to improve liver health. Aloe vera powder works very effectively on the skin.

Morphology –
Aloe vera is a stemless or very short-stemmed plant growing to 60–100 cm tall, spreading by offsets. The leaves are thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with some varieties showing white flecks on their upper and lower stem surfaces. The margin of the leaf is serrated and has small white teeth. The flowers are produced in summer on a spike up to 90 cm tall, each flower being pendulous, with a yellow tubular corolla 2–3 cm long.
