Babul Bark Powder

*The primary action of Babul is on the mucosal membranes found in different parts of the body. Babul translates into healthy bowels, as it works on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines. Babul removes swelling from the oral mucosa, as well as the gut mucosa. The Babul tree is often found in sandy and dry climates. Its dry and astringent properties have a particular action on the teeth and gums. For thousands of years this gentle, soft, reddish-brown powder has been used in dental care. It makes your teeth stronger, nourishes the gums, and prevents the build-up of toxins in the mouth. Additionally, Babul is beneficial for the throat and for ridding toxins from the excretory organs.

Morphology –
A moderate-sized tree up to 10 m in height with dark brown or black longitudinally fissured rough bark and reddish-brown heartwood, branchlets slender, pubescent when young; Leaves bipinnately compound, main rachis downy, often with glands, stipular spines highly variable, often whitish, straight and sharp, pinnae 4 - 9 pairs, leaflets subsessile, 10 - 25 pairs, nearly glabrous; Flowers golden yellow in globose heads, peduncles axillary in fascicles of 2-6; Fruits stalked, compressed, moniliform pods with constrictions between the seeds; Seeds 8-12 per pod. The 'gum' (gum Arabic) exudes from cuts in the bark in the form of rounded or ovoid 'tears', each drop about 1.25 cm in size. Its color varies from pale yellow to black.
