*Gokshura gets its name from its thorny fruits, which cows encounter in the grassy fields. Gokshura whole plant flushes urinary bladder and the fruit promotes sexual performance in men. It has cleansing properties and also an excellent anti-inflammatory, making it an immunity-boosting herb. Gokshura supports in building muscles and can be used by the elderly for combating muscle shrinkage.

Morphology
Gokshura is a small prostate growing up to 60 cm in height. Its leaves are opposite, paripinnate with 5 – 8 pairs. Its fruits are stellate in shape, rounded and have five corners and are greenish-yellow in color containing spines. Tips of spines are arranged in pairs forming a pentagonal framework. The seeds are oily. The root is thin, fibrous, cylindrical and branched. Root is up to 18 cm long and 0.5 cm in diameter.
